EXTERIOR DOORS​ AND WINDOWS

• All doors are locked every time we leave the house, even if it is just for a few moments​

• Doors are checked for any signs of attempted entry or for signs of leaks or cracks

• Glass panels in or near the doors are checked for signs of tampering​

• All entryways have a working lock​

• Spare keys are kept in a safe place, not under a doormat, planter, ledge, or in the mailbox

• ​Windows are also checked for concerns of attempted access or for signs of leaks or cracks

• All windows have a working lock and are intact

• Lanai access door(s) and screens are checked for damage or attempted access​

• Sliding glass doors have strong working locks​

• A dowel or pin is added to secure all sliding glass doors to prevent the doors from being shoved aside or lifted off track

GARAGE AND VEHICLE 

• Door leading from the attached garage is secured and intact​

• Overhead garage door has a lock, so we are not relying solely on the automatic door opener for security​

• Motor vehicle started/driven/not driven as per instructions limit 15 minutes per visit is included in our basic monthly fee

FOUNDATION, ROOF, AND GUTTERS

• Roof and gutters are checked for damage or obstructions (from the ground level)​

​

PLUMBING AND HVAC

• Evaluate equipment such as A/C, pool pump, water softener, water heater for damage or theft​

​

POOL AND SPA

• Pool is checked to determine the level of care provided by the pool service company

• Check pool and spa, as well as condition of the water and water levels

​

LANDSCAPING AND LAWN

• Animal related damage to home, lanai or yard​

• Landscaping and lawn to determine the level of care provided by lawn service company

​

OUTDOOR SECURITY

• Exterior security lighting or flood lights are operational and on a timer or motion-sensor​

• House number is clearly displayed so police and other emergency vehicles can find the house​

• If mail and newspaper delivery service have not been stopped, then all mail, newspapers, and flyers left at the front door are brought into the home

​

OUTDOOR PERSONAL PROPERTY ​

• Secure gate latches, garage doors, and shed doors after every use​

• Grills, lawn mowers, bicycles and other personal property should be stored in a locked garage or shed if possible, but if not then at least hidden from view with a tarp and securely locked to a stationary point​

• Firearms should be stored unloaded and locked in storage boxes and secured with trigger guard locks ​

• Televisions, stereos, and computers should be inscribed with identifying numbers approved by local police​

• Maintain an up-to-date home inventory complete with pictures and kept somewhere on the premises

​

POST STORM INSPECTION

• Visit property post storm as needed (performed within 24 hours of storm, weather permitting) with one storm visit per month included in our fee
